The Museum of Natural History situated in the Invalidenstraße is just 1.2 miles away from The Westin Grand Hotel Berlin. The museum is a great place of ‘edutainment' as it offers education and entertainment at he same time. There are several permanent exhibitions such as "Evolution in Action", "System Earth" and "The Cosmos and Solar System". Additionally, there are temporary special exhibitions and opportunities to explore scientific working yourself. Highlight in the museum is the exhibition "The World of Dinosaurs" that hosts the world's largest skeleton of a Brachiosaurus dinosaur. The fossil originates from Tanzania and is more than 13 metres (42 feet) high. Berlin Zoo
The Zoo Berlin, birthplace of famous polar bear Knut, is easy to reach by S-Bahn or a long walk through the Tiergarten park from The Westin Grand Hotel Berlin. On the premises of the Berlin Zoo, there is the Zoo Aquarium which also has an seperate entrance on the Budapester Straße. Both attractions can be accessed with an individual or a combined ticket. Here, you can observe animals such as arctic foxes, paintbrush ear pigs, clown fish or black tip reef sharks. In addition, there usually are several newborn animals and you can watch the feeding of various animals on different times of the day.
