Museum of Natural History

The Museum of Natural History situated in the Invalidenstraße is just 1.2 miles away from The Westin Grand Hotel Berlin. The museum is a great place of ‘edutainment' as it offers education and entertainment at he same time. There are several permanent exhibitions such as "Evolution in Action", "System Earth" and "The Cosmos and Solar System". Additionally, there are temporary special exhibitions and opportunities to explore scientific working yourself. Highlight in the museum is the exhibition "The World of Dinosaurs" that hosts the world's largest skeleton of a Brachiosaurus dinosaur. The fossil originates from Tanzania and is more than 13 metres (42 feet) high.

The museum is open Tuesday to Friday from 9.30 a.m. until 6 p.m. and from 10 a.m until 6 p.m. on weekends and public holidays.

Legoland© Discovery Centre

The LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre counts as one of the most famous attractions for children in Berlin. Situated at the Potsdamer Platz, it is within walking distance from The Westin Grand Hotel Berlin.

Experience, discover, explore: The colourful LEGO® world offers its guests 15 different attractions to be amazed, to try out, to explain, to take part, to watch and to lean back.
The MINILAND shows the sights of Berlin as miniatures. The 4D cinema addresses all senses: a different world with exciting surprises and fascinating special effects. The brave ones dive into a world of dragons and medieval knights. In the LEGO® factory, you can produce your own LEGO® brick and take it home with you. Since 2011, there is "Merlin's Apprentice", a carousel full of magic.

More than 3 million LEGO® bricks will enchant you and your children. In addition, you will find a café and a shop. The LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre is open daily from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.. Please note that last admission is at 5 p.m..

The Zoo Berlin, birthplace of famous polar bear Knut, is easy to reach by S-Bahn or a long walk through the Tiergarten park from The Westin Grand Hotel Berlin. On the premises of the Berlin Zoo, there is the Zoo Aquarium which also has an seperate entrance on the Budapester Straße. Both attractions can be accessed with an individual or a combined ticket.

Here, you can observe animals such as arctic foxes, paintbrush ear pigs, clown fish or black tip reef sharks. In addition, there usually are several newborn animals and you can watch the feeding of various animals on different times of the day. Altogether 17,134 animals (1,554 different species) live in the Zoo and the Zoo Aquarium.

Madame Tussauds Berlin
